Statement of Faith

I believe in God's infallible written Word- The Bible which consists of 73 books of the Old and New Testaments. I believe that the Bible was uniquely, verbally, and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and written without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the final authority in all matters on which it speaks.

I believe God is Trinitarian; the mystery of One God eternally exists in three Persons: The Father, the Son (THE LORD JESUS CHRIST) and the Holy Spirit.

God is the Maker of the entire Universe and created man in His image and for His glory.

Mankind deceived God through sin and alienated themselves from Him. Reconciliation was made through His only begotten Son Jesus Christ who came in human form (through the virginal conception) to redeem humanity’s sinful souls by his death on the cross. Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life. He performed miracles and ministered for three and a half years. He died a vicarious atoning death on the cross. After three days, Jesus rose from the dead (bodily resurrection).

I believe that Jesus ascended to Heaven after forty days. Today, Jesus is active in His ministry of intercession. He also lives within every believer through the power communicated by the Holy Spirit.

At the Parousia (Second coming), Jesus will come again in glory and power to judge the earth. Whoever accepts Jesus by faith obtains God’s gift of salvation.

God’s greatest revelation of Himself to man is in Jesus Christ. Jesus has two natures- He is both God and man.

I believe in the personality and deity of the Holy Spirit, who dwells within the faithful by enabling them to live a Spirit-filled life. The Holy Spirit is the mighty Helper and Counsellor, who guides believers in perfect truth.

I believe in the saints but not in their mediation. Jesus Christ is the sole Mediator between God and man. He alone should be worshipped and praised.

I believe in the existence of angels, but I do not believe they should be revered or idolised. They are created beings who minister to and for God. God alone should be venerated.

I believe that this earth will pass away and will be replaced by a new Heaven and a new Earth. Sin will be eradicated and there will be no more suffering, no mourning, no diseases, and no sorrows. This event comes after the tribulation, after the Lord’s second coming, after the millennial kingdom, after the final rebellion, after the final judgment of Satan, and after the Great White Throne Judgement.

I strongly believe that God ordained the institution of marriage and reveal it to be exclusively monogamous and heterosexual, (one man and one woman), (Genesis 2:15-25; 3:1-11)

I believe that Purgatory is a place of torment for the unrepentant souls, not for those who have accepted Jesus as their Saviour. When followers of Christ die, they are taken to heaven to meet with the Lord. They are not in an unconscious state at all! Believers are in a state of awareness after death. Jesus told the religious leaders in His day that God was the God of the living. He reminded them what God had said to Moses (Matthew 22:32). St. Paul told the church at Thessalonica that believers will always be with the Lord (1 Thessalonians 5:10). Though the intermediate state is a place of waiting, it is also a place of activity (Revelation 7:15).

I do not believe in the false doctrine of the Rapture which is based on 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. Thin proof for such a seemingly major doctrine.

The Greek verb for “caught up” is harpagesometha, which does not mean abduction but seems to refer to the ideas of force and precipitateness seen in God's power. Believers aren’t taken off the earth during the Great Tribulation as many believe, but instead, they will be under God's protection and He will intervene for them during this stressful period.
